Merry New Year! I’m vacationing in New Hampshire, where the sun barely rises and the snow always falls. It’s been a lovely holiday taking care of family, pondering the meaning of life, contemplating the future, the best cell phone, my retirement, and of course the trip to France.

It might be worth considering getting a waterproof/water-resistant cell phone, now that they’re available. The next one I get will probably be a water-resistant one, like the Sony Ericsson C702. Not as many features as my current Nokia, but does a lot better on the boat.

What passage are you making , on this current video , it looks like a bit boisterous out there ?

This was shot back in North Carolina, Pamlico Sound. It was blowing upwards of 20kts, probably more like 25kts. I’m pretty conservative when it comes to estimating wind speed I’ve learned. Was running under stays’l alone, making 5.8 kts or so.
